The 45th edition of the World’s longest consecutively running Wiffle® Ball tournament, the World Wiffle® Ball Championship, will be held August 17-18, 2024 at the Crown Point Sportsplex in Crown Point, Indiana.

“Having the opportunity to bring the World Wiffle® Ball Championship back to Indiana, especially to a festive city like Crown Point, is incredibly exciting for the future of the tournament,” said Nate Hansen, co-commissioner of the World Wiffle® Ball Championship.

The Crown Point Sportsplex is located only a few minutes from downtown Crown Point, as well as Interstate 65, and is set up similarly to past venues with multiple baseball/softball fields in close proximity. Crown Point is located less than an hour from downtown Chicago and is easily accessible.

And yes, the 2024 WWBC will feature the return of six-foot outfield fences.

“We, as a community, are very grateful to host this amazing event that raises money for a great cause and brings in some fun competition,” said Scott Evorik, Crown Point City Council member.

The World Wiffle® Ball Championship features five-person teams playing with perforated plastic Wiffle® Balls, on miniature ball fields with six-foot home run fences. Since the tournament’s creation in Mishawaka, Indiana in 1980, the event has also been featured in The Ringer, ESPN The Magazine, Men’s Health, USA Today, and on ESPN, Fox, CBS, ABC and NBC-TV.

The tournament is a two-day event, with all teams guaranteed four games in a pool play format on Saturday and qualifying teams participating in a single-elimination tournament on Sunday to crown a World Champion. In 2023, teams from 10 states participated and ages of players, male and female, ranged from 7 to 64. The tournament is open for all to participate.

Since 2018, proceeds from the World Wiffle® Ball Championship have benefited the South Suburban Humane Society in Matteson, Illinois, with over $13,000 raised to help animals in need.

Registration for the WWBC will open on Saturday, January 20. The entry fee for the tournament will be $125 through May 1, and $150 after May 1. All teams that register prior to July 1 will receive WWBC t-shirts for all players. The final deadline for entry into the 45th World Wiffle® Ball Championship is August 9.
