The 44th World Wiffle® Ball Championship is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to release this year’s official WWBC shirt.

The 2023 edition of the World’s oldest Wiffle® bash will be the 10th taking place in the Chicagoland area, and what better way to memorialize these ties with a take on the city’s iconic flag.

If your team enters the WWBC before JUNE 25, each player registered will receive the official shirt as part of the entry fee. The shirt can also be purchased by anyone on our website for $25 (shirts purchased online will be mailed out in mid/late July).

Speaking of the entry fee, through JUNE 1, we’ll be running a Memorial Day sale where you can register your team for $125. Don’t rely on our notoriously slow IT team to forget to change the site – get in now!

Note: the final deadline to enter the 44th WWBC is JULY 2.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS

When: July 15-16, 2023

Where: Memorial Park – Midlothian, Illinois

Who: Anybody, and we mean anybody. Last year’s youngest participant was 7-years-old, while the oldest participant was 63 (and he hit a dinger).

Format: All teams will play four round-robin games on Saturday, June 15. Teams that finish 2-2 or better will automatically advance to Sunday’s single-elimination tournament. 1-3 teams will participate in an extra-inning tournament for the final slot in Sunday’s quest for a World Championship.

Defending Champion: New Carlisle Newts (two-time defending champion)

Why: Check out the Ringer’s article on the 40th World Wiffle® Ball Championship.

Wifflers have raised over $10,000 for South Suburban Humane Society since the tournament has been held in Midlothian. We are thrilled to continue to donate every dollar after tournament costs to an organization that does tremendous work for animals in need.

We hope to see you all on July 15!
